If you’ve waited until now to buy a gift for someone, your options are dwindling — as you well know.
You can go out and fight the crowds and the traffic, and HOPE you find something good. But you better know where you’re going, what you’re looking for, and either have done your research (by visiting the GSS) or just cross your fingers and hope for the best.
The better way to go is, you guessed it, the ultimate turn to for last minute gifting in the cyber-age — the Gift Card. Send it by email and it’s sure to get there on time.
Some say giving a gift card is just giving money, with no real thought behind it. You know what? That’s true. You know what else? I’d take it every time. I have no problem with someone helping me to get something I want. I end up feeling like I got a great deal, especially when I find something marked down for post-holiday sales. Last year, I added up my gift cards and got a 1TB Seagate external drive. It was on sale and I spent like $30 of my own money, so I was stoked.
I don’t know anyone who really gets offended by a gift card. It’s definitely better than cash. You just need make sure it’s for a store where they can find something they want. And, for people that are tough to buy for, I’ve found this to be the best and most efficient option for all parties.
Here are some popular eCard options:
Borders — Their e-gift cards can be used online or in-store — good for those who like to browse for books in a store.
Macy’s — Their e-gift cards can be used online or in-store.
Sports Authority — Online gift certificates are available, but they can only be used online and not in-store.
Bath and Body Works — Their e-gift cards can only be used online and not in-store.
TGW.com — E-gift cards for the golfer. Use online.
Well, that should cover just about everyone — man, woman, child, young or old — and since I know your time is limited in clicking out these last minute gifts, I’ll only wish you good luck and happy holidays!
While we’ve completed our Gaucho coverage of the 12 days of Christmas Savings, we’re not done yet. Tune back in tomorrow when Marv will be entertaining you via video GauchoCast.
We’re excited to announce a special contest for all our Twitter followers out there.
As you probably know, Twitter has been slowly adding more functions to their basic platform over the past few months. The biggest of these changes is the ability to create Twitter lists.
Well, with great Twitter clients like TweetDeck and Seesmic now supporting Twitter lists, plus all the press buzz these lists are getting, we’re excited about how these lists might help us here at Gaucho.
See, Gaucho just launched into public beta and we’re brand new to the interwebs. Since we’re built on user-generated content, we’re only as good as our users. So, we’re looking for a few more good users like you.
Wanna do us a solid? Looking to get listed yourself? Just want a chance to win a $10 iTunes or Starbucks giftcard?
Here’s the deal.
Add Gaucho to any of your Twitter lists anytime between December 7 and December 11. If you list us, we’ll list you back on our GauchoFriends Twitter list.
Plus, we’ll take it a step further. List us before 11:59 PM PST on December 11 and you’ll be entered to win a $10 iTunes or Starbucks Gift Card. We’re giving away 5 iTunes cards and 5 Starbucks cards.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. If you could get $10 for everyone you add to a Twitter list, you’d list tweeps all day long. Sure, I don’t blame you. Just know, you can add @GauchoSave to as many lists as you like to increase your chances of winning, but we can only give one gift card to each winner.
No worries. Amy Porterfield shows you how in this quick video.
